An unknown hacker gained access to the official Discord server. It is dedicated to hosting members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Kennel Club, 3 NFT collections from Yuga Labs.

A hacker successfully posted a phishing link on the Mutant Ape Kennel Club channel. It was disguised as “snatched NFT coins” and was used to steal Mutant Ape Yacht Club #8662 from a user. According to security company PeckShield,
The BAYC team said in a tweet that it “caught” the issue immediately, however, the team warned users not to create any NFTs using links posted on Discord, and warned observers that there were no plans for any April Fools coins.
